Un arte puramente mexicano

Una pintura sincera, espontánea, primitiva, inquietante que es una revelación.

Aunque encontramos que no es pura, ya que se ven influencias del arte moderno europeo, en técnica y espiríritu.

Sin embargo el espíritu de la raza india habla tan fuerte através de ella que inconcientemente danzan delante de ella dejando ver su esencia, la voz de la raza se defiende.

El totemismo produce un animismo milenario, el alma misma de un viejisimo concepto humano.

Si por medio de los objetos se conoce lo sensible, es por medio de los sueños que se conocen los objetos. La vigilia solo muestra que lo que existe, no muestra figura, está muerto.

El espíritu primitivo es aquel que no ve lo que es, nada existe en realidad, sin embargo por medio del arte se puede reproducir lo que supone y lo que está a la medida de una imaginación limitada.

Se siente la esperanza, la llamada, el eco de una luz superior, que nada tiene que ver, una luz que proviene de los misterios insondables de la naturaleza, de esos misterios los antiguos artístas de méxico parecen haber escrutado.

"My favorite 'ism' is surrealism. I think that once artists learned to paint the world around them - call it 'realism'- it was a short step to paint imaginary realities. Maybe the Greeks were the first surrealists, with all those stories about centaurs, mermaids, satyrs, and so on. Mythical creatures, visions of heaven and hell, dreams and nightmares - artists have always painted realistic images of worlds which never were. (...)

 I have a lot of questions to ask, which form a key component in my endeavors.

What events led to the conception of centaurs, mermaids, and all those other hybrid critters? (...)

My goal is to communicate my thoughts about these questions. In asking these questions I'm aware of the lack of answers and the potential to create most questions. Ella es una animadora e ilustradora recientemente graduada de la Universidad de Kignston en el Reino Unido; Su trabajo me encantó, el tipo de ilustración y la manera de abordar los temas en sus cortos donde también la música juega un papel bien importante, lo que yo resaltaría de esto es lo complicado que resulta plasmar una idea de una manera sencilla, en este caso los personajes , para mí su simpleza es lo que me atrae muchisimo. aqui les dejo este que se llama "My first crush" espero les guste.

Richard Bilingham, gran fotografo y artista británico.

Nació en 1970 , comenzó a tomar fotos mientras estudiaba bellas artes en la universidad de Sunderland, su familia fué su tema principal, los fotografió tanto que de pronto dejaron de notar la presencia de la cámara teniendo como resultado imagenes totalmente espontáneas y naturales. Su primera exposición fue en la barbican art gallery, en Londres en 1994, titulada 'who's looking at the family', dos años después algunas fueron publicadas su libro 'ray's a laugh'.


A continuación presentamos un fragmento de una pequeña entrevista donde el autor habla mas a fondo acerca de su trabajo :

'my father raymond is a chronic alcoholic.
he doesn't like going outside, my mother elizabeth hardly drinks,
but she does smoke a lot.
she likes pets and things that are decorative.
they married in 1970 and I was born soon after.
my younger brother jason was taken into care when he was 11,
but now he is back with ray and liz again.
recently he became a father.
'dad was some kind of mechanic, but he's always been an
alcoholic. it has just got worse over the years.
he gets drunk on cheap cider at the off license.
he drinks a lot at nights now and gets up late.
originally, our family lived in a terraced house,
but they blew all the redundancy money and, in desperation,
sold the house. then we moved to the council tower block,
where ray just sits in and drinks.
that's the thing about my dad, there's no subject he's interested
in, except drink.'

'it's not my intention to shock, to offend, sensationalise,
be political or whatever, only to make work that is as spiritually
meaningful as I can make it -
in all these photographs I never bothered with things like
the negatives. some of them got marked and scratched.
I just used the cheapest film and took them to be processed
at the cheapest place. I was just trying to make order out of chaos.'

People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish... But that's only if it's done properly

Robert "Banksy" Banks es un graffiti artist Inglés. Trabaja de manera anónima y se sabe muy poco de él. Se cree que nació en Bristol, Inglaterra en 1974. Una vez fue descrito como el cruce entre el actor Jimmy Nail y el rapero Inglés de The Streets, Mike Skinner. 

Hizo la portada del disco Think Tank de Blur.

Es un artista muy controversial y crítico con mensajes fuertes contra la guerra y otros males sociales.

Pregunta: 

¿Le corresponde a los artistas transmitir mensajes políticos? 

¿A cierto nivel es esa su función o puro accidente?
